Head of Technology – Sustainability & Strategy

Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI)

Adam Morton is the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) Head of Technology – Sustainability and Strategy. In this role, he leads ATI technical workstreams on decarbonisation, aircraft non-CO2 effects, low carbon fuels and is also their main technical authority on wider aviation sustainability. Over the last two years he has led delivery of the world’s first non-CO2 roadmap, pulling together inputs from across the sector. The Non-CO2 Technologies Roadmap sets out priority areas to reduce current uncertainty and help accelerate relevant technology solutions. As such it underpins the ATI Non-CO2 Programme itself which includes circa £20 m of ATI funding for applied technology in this area. Adam is also a recent Chair of Sustainable Aviation, a coalition of UK airports, airlines, OEMs, fuel companies and service providers. Prior experience includes senior roles with Rolls-Royce including Group Head of Environmental Technology, Head of Innovation and Chief of Low Carbon Technology. He is also a former partner at consultancy firm Mott MacDonald where he ran their Renewable Energy practice.
